Behaviour Supports
Being a parent can sometimes be the hardest job in the world. Children First support line can’t promise to make it all better, but we can help you find a way through it that is right for you and your family.
We support parents and carers to explore what might be behind a child’s behaviour, and how that might be affected by how adults react.
Children usually behave ‘badly’ for a reason – though working out what’s going on can feel frustrating when your patience is already tested. Understanding the reason (and seeing behaviour as a signal your children are sending) makes it easier to help children through whatever is setting them off. It won’t happen overnight. With patience and repeated encouragement, it should happen over time
